Martyn Hayward - Solicitor
Martyn is a member of the Personal Injury team.
Martyn has been dealing with asbestos-related disease claims for nearly 20 years. He is recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers as a Senior Litigator and as an Accredited Asbestos and Occupational Disease specialist.
Before qualifying as a solicitor, Martyn worked as an electrician for 25 years.
Martyn actively supports the Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group and works closely with other lawyers and health care professionals to further the cause and raise the public’s awareness of the dangers of occupational diseases. He has appeared in the media in relation to asbestos-related disease matters.
Martyn deals with all types of asbestos-related disease cases, including mesothelioma and lung cancer. He also acts for those who have contracted non-malignant asbestos-related diseases, such as asbestosis and pleural thickening and is able to advise on all facets of the claim.
As part of his practice, Martyn attends inquests on behalf of the family and guides them through the process of bringing a claim on behalf of the Estate. He also acts and advises in relation to “secondary” exposure cases (where a partner or other family member may have been exposed indirectly).
Martyn provides benefit advice to clients and works closely with our own ‘in house’ rehab coordinators to provide the support and advice needed to help improve the quality of his clients lives during the very difficult time from diagnosis through to a claim’s conclusion.
Martyn is passionate about obtaining a just result for his clients and is firmly of the belief that continuing to raise awareness of the dangers of asbestos-related disease is just as important now, as it ever was.
Outside of work, Martyn is an avid sports fan and a West Ham season ticket holder for longer than he cares to remember!
