Natalie Westgate - Senior Associate

Natalie is a Senior Associate in our Lifetime Planning team.

She specialises in Wills, Powers of Attorney and Estate Planning, as well as Probate and Estate Administration including foreign assets, and the administration of Trusts. Natalie also provides Trust advice including Charitable Trust advice.

Natalie qualified as a Solicitor in 2008, having achieved a BA Hons in European Studies with French at Leicester University. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Law at De Montfort Law School in Leicester before studying the Legal Practice Course.

Prior to working at Ashtons, Natalie gained experience working on large estates, including farming and charity elements. She also spent several years leading a Private Client team at a reputable firm in Leicester and has experience working in a niche charity practice.

Natalie is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Natalie has experience dealing with a wide range of private client matters and has acted for several generations of the same family. She has also acted as a professional deputy and believes she addresses clients’ concerns in an empathetic and legally effective way.

Natalie is fascinated by the diversity she encounters in meeting new people and in getting to know their life stories, and she loves that her work enables her to help people in their lives when it matters.

She is also Chair of the Charities & Pro Bono Committee at Ashtons Legal.

Outside of work, Natalie mentors young people/law students, has been a school governor and charity trustee, and has volunteered at a homeless food kitchen for several years. She loves to go on walks with her dog and enjoys horse riding. Natalie also enjoys travelling especially with her family, and having a French conversation whenever possible.
