Andrew Wilson - Consultant

Andrew is a Consultant in our Personal Injury team and has a wealth of experience in personal injury claims for those who have suffered catastrophic injuries or occupational disease, including mesothelioma. He qualified as a solicitor in 1988, after graduating in law from King’s College, University of London. He has held partnership in other specialist personal injury practices.

Andrew’s clients include victims of severe and life-changing injury, such as brain and spinal injury and amputation. He relishes the opportunity to harness his expertise and experience to support claimants and families through the most trying and traumatic of circumstances.

Andrew has acted in group actions brought in connection with poisoning and respiratory injury suffered in the workplace. He has also represented victims, and the families of victims, of illnesses contracted following exposure to harmful agents in the workplace, particularly asbestos.

Andrew offers a robust and tenacious approach with other parties and the Court. He has a fierce determination to obtain the best possible outcome for his clients, tackling difficult issues of responsibility and identifying all available items of damage.

Andrew has a particular interest in indemnity issues in the context of road traffic accidents occurring domestically and overseas and application of workplace regulations, with experience of taking matters to the Court of Appeal.

As an expert in the field of personal injury, Andrew has a seat on the Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Editorial Board of legal publishers, LexisNexis. He is the author of the BPILS (Butterworth’s Personal Injury Litigation Service) Damages Handbook and the Occupational Disease guide. He has also provided chapters for Halsbury’s, is a contributing author of APIL and BPILS guides for practitioners and regularly writes and updates practice notes giving practical advice to practitioners, alongside regularly presenting seminars to the profession and clients.

Outside of work, Andrew is a keen tennis player, golfer and footballer and enjoys reading and dog walking.
