Richard Foyster - Partner

Richard is Head of Personal Injury at Ashtons Legal and specialises in catastrophic injury claims, particularly brain injury cases – usually following car accidents or accidents at work.

He has a reputation for taking on and winning particularly complex cases, and cases which other solicitors have turned away or failed to properly progress.

He is passionate about the importance and benefits of extensive early private rehabilitation following a serious injury, and the positive effects that this can have on the eventual outcome for his injured clients.

Richard has settled many cases with a value of more than £1,000,000; his recent work includes obtaining a settlement of over £4,000,000 for a young man who suffered brain injuries and a number of orthopaedic injuries in a road traffic accident. The High Court judge who approved the settlement terms made it clear that Richard had achieved a very good outcome for the client.

Richard is recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a Senior Litigator and is a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel.  He is ranked in Band 1 by Chambers and Partners for claimant personal injury work. Richard is a member of the Forum of Complex Injury Solicitors (FOCIS) and is a trustee of Headway Suffolk and Felixstowe Citizens Advice Bureau.

Leading the Tier 1 Personal Injury team (Legal 500), Richard Foyster is a “calm, resolute and brave” lawyer who is “always on hand to provide representation to the underdog, providing clients with excellent service.” – Chambers and Partners.
