Do you want to qualify as a lawyer, but prefer a more modern approach to learning, with flexible study options and remote resources that fit around your work and hobbies?

Ashtons Legal provides the opportunity to qualify as a lawyer with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx). CILEx provides a range of qualifications, see here for more details.

CILEX offers learners the opportunity to work through three career stages; CPQ Foundation to become a qualified Paralegal with a CILEX Diploma in Law. CPQ Advanced to achieve Trainee CILEX Lawyer or Advanced Paralegal status with an Advanced Diploma in Law and Practice. And the final stage, CPQ Professional to become a qualified CILEX Lawyer with a CILEX Professional Diploma in Legal Practice.

The diplomas involve remote, online learning, and provide equal opportunity to understand the law and implement it in practice.

Independent study time can fit around other commitments, and there are induction and revision days to get you started. The nature of the qualification means it is possible to train alongside earning a full-time wage in the legal sector and simultaneously put your knowledge into practice at work. There is no set timeframe to complete the qualification and no set timetable – you can study when you like for as long as you like.

There are no formal entry requirements but CILEx recommends that learners have a minimum of four GCSEs at grade C or above (including English Language/Literature) or equivalent qualifications. The Graduate Fast-track Diploma is available for those who already have a qualifying law degree (see here for more information).
