Individual support for health care professionals
In recent years, Ashtons Legal has supported a number of nurses, including Kate Slaven (Royal Papworth LCNS & Mesothelioma UK Specialist Nurse) to attend the International Mesothelioma Interest Group (IMIG) and National Lung Cancer Forum for Nurses (NLCFN).
We have also sponsored nurses from our local hospitals in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire who are studying for MSc, in addition to researchers who are training to become mesothelioma specialist nurses, and lung cancer nurse specialists in District General Hospitals looking to expand their existing knowledge.
Sponsorship of educational events
Ashtons Legal has supported the education of Mesothelioma UK nurses by sponsoring their annual update which followed our inaugural Patient & Carer Day in Norwich – this event was very well received with health care professionals from local hospitals attending. Ashtons Legal went on to sponsor a similar event with the LCNS team from The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, together with St Clare Hospice.
Why we support medical professionals?
From our point of view as lawyers specialising in mesothelioma claims, it is interesting to hear regular updates about ongoing clinical trials in the UK and overseas.
Since the Nurse’s Education Fund was introduced, we have received many emails of thanks for providing these opportunities to NHS health care professionals who report being able to share with their team latest developments and best practice for the benefit of our mutual patients.
