Automotive firm acquires vehicle diagnostic business

A team from Ashtons Legal has assisted automotive firm A1 ADAS Group in their acquisition of calibration and vehicle diagnostic business Autocalibration.

Established in 2022, Autocalibration offers on-site ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibration services to both the motor trade and retail customers, aiming to enhance vehicle safety by ensuring systems like lane assist and automatic braking function correctly. A1 ADAS Group are a unique business; the only automotive company in the UK to provide ADAS and diagnostic services alongside tool and equipment distribution.

The purchase was led by partner David Sloman alongside assistance from Jessica Piper in Employment, and Jasmine Allen and James Brighton from the Corporate and Commercial team.

As part of the deal, Autocalibration will retain its company name and brand and will sit alongside the A1 ADAS Group’s existing subsidiary companies, which include A1 ADAS Solutions and A1 Remote Diagnostics. Autocalibration’s staff, including founder Gavin Jenks, will remain in the business.
