At Ashtons Legal we know that the way we operate can have a significant impact on the environment.

Every choice made within the firm – from the sort of paper, printers, lighting and heating used contributes to the firm’s carbon footprint and they have a cost to the environment.

As a responsible employer, we are committed to reducing the firm’s impact on the environment and striving towards a more sustainable future.

We continually set and review targets in a number of areas to reduce our environmental impact. This includes:

  • paper and printing
  • transport usage
  • energy and water
  • lighting
  • recycling.

The CSR committee is responsible for the firm’s environmental policy. But we also believe that the firm’s environmental performance will be achieved by all of us working together. We were awarded the Suffolk Carbon Charter (Silver status) in recognition of the energy-saving and carbon reduction measures we have put in place.

Since January 2020, we have been continually encouraging our employees to use the search engine Ecosia who use their ad revenues to plant trees where they are needed most.

We are also members of The Legal Sector Alliance – a group of law firms and organisations who work collaboratively to take action on climate change by reducing their carbon footprint and adopting environmentally sustainable practices.
