Ashtons Charitable Trust donates £10,500 to 10 charities

Ashtons Charitable Trust is delighted to have donated £10,500 across 10 charities.

Six of the charities had been chosen by staff as their Charities of the Year, these are East Anglian Air Ambulance, Inspire Suffolk, St George’s Crypt, Suffolk Mind, Sunflowers and Zoological Society of East Anglia.

Together, they shared £8,500 with an additional £2,000 from direct applications for projects being awarded to East Anglia Children’s Hospices, Lennox Children’s Cancer Trust, Suffolk Accident Rescue Service and ‘The Hive’ Methwold Youth Centre.

Funds for Ashtons Charitable Trust are raised in the main through Ashtons Legal’s corporate and charity fundraising events such as the Court of Protection Conference, Petanque evening and Cambridge Treasure Hunt. Monies are also raised through staff supporting internal events, charitable giving partnerships with Amazon Smile and The Giving Machine and through Ashtons’ Wills Campaign where the firm gives a donation from every new Will created, invoiced and paid in a year.

Chair of Ashtons’ CSR Committee, Janette Wand, says: “It is always such a pleasure to support such worthwhile causes in our local communities and I thank all our staff for their support and fundraising efforts. Looking ahead, we look forward to forging relationships with our 2022 Charities of the Year – Royal Papworth Hospital Charity, Support After Rape Leeds, The Feed and East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices – and hope to see our staff getting involved more with these causes throughout the year”.
