£230,000 settlement for Cambridgeshire mesothelioma sufferer

Martyn Hayward has obtained a settlement for a Mesothelioma (an asbestos-related disease) sufferer from Cambridgeshire.

Martyn, a specialist asbestos-related disease lawyer in our Personal Injury team here at Ashtons Legal, secured £230,000 for Mrs T, who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in early 2018.  She had spent many years unknowingly washing asbestos dust off her husband’s overalls.

Martyn comments: “We have represented many carpenters, electricians and plumbers who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma after working in an asbestos-ridden environment.  In this case, Mr T was a college caretaker and therefore also carrying out maintenance tasks which exposed him to the asbestos in the building.  The Court accepted earlier this year that asbestos had been present at the College and was the cause of Mrs T’s mesothelioma.”
