Settlement for woman who fell resulting in brain injury

  • Posted

Richard Foyster, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, has obtained an appropriate settlement for a woman who fell and suffered a head injury.

The local council had been replacing streetlights but the contractor assigned failed to put barriers over the excavated hole. Ms L then fell into the hole causing a suspected brain injury. This occurred in the evening with nobody to witness the incident.

Liability was originally denied but Ashtons were able to gather sufficient evidence to commence proceedings in the high court and secured a settlement for Ms E who has now returned to work, although is currently working at a reduced capacity.
