Independent Norwich clothing shop sold to national retailer
Ashtons Legal has assisted an established men’s clothing retailer, Elements Clothing, in their sale to 80s Casual Classics, a national company that sells new and vintage clothing online and in stores across the UK, including Derby, Glasgow and Barnsley.
Elements Clothing, in Lower Goat Lane in Norwich, has been run by business partners David Finlay and Paul Dodd since it opened in 1998. Prior to that, they also ran the Blue Jean Co. in Norwich’s Pottergate, which closed its doors in 2011. Together, they have run clothing stores for 38 years and admitted that this sale marks the ‘end of an era’.
Jasmine Allen, a solicitor in the Ashtons’ corporate and commercial team, supported David and Paul in the sale of Elements to 80s Casual Classics. She was assisted by corporate colleague Mark Watson and employment specialist Emily Dixon.

Jasmine comments: “It has been lovely to work with a business that has so much local history and a clear objective to ensure their successors continue serving the people of Norwich and Norfolk”.
David Finlay adds: “80s Casual Classics fits nicely with us. They are going to keep our current staff and team on and will gradually phase out the Elements name so our customers don’t see a big change overnight”.
