Medical negligence fees
The vast majority of our medical negligence claims are funded on a no win, no fee basis. This means you won’t pay legal fees unless your claim is successful. If it is, the defendant will typically cover most of your legal costs. We’ll set out your funding options clearly during your free initial consultation, so you know exactly where you stand before committing to anything. Frequently asked questions
For a full list of answers to common questions, visit our medical negligence FAQs page.
How long do I have to make a medical negligence claim?
In most cases, you have three years from the date of the negligent treatment, or from the date you first had reason to suspect that your injury may have been caused by medical negligence. If the injured person is under 18, the three-year period starts on their 18th birthday. If they lack mental capacity, no time limit applies. If you’re unsure whether you’re within time, contact us as soon as possible.
Can I claim on behalf of a family member?
Yes. You can bring a claim on behalf of a child, someone who lacks mental capacity, or a loved one who has died as a result of medical negligence. Our solicitors will guide you through the process with care and clarity from start to finish.
Do I need to travel to your office to start a claim?
No. We offer virtual consultations, so you can speak with us by phone or video call from your home in Peterborough. Many clients choose to visit our Cambridge office in person at a later stage, and we’re always happy to welcome you there.
