New report on possible impact of Brexit on UK farming industry

  • Posted

Average farm profitability could drop from £38,000 to £15,000 a year in the worst case scenario as a result of policy and performance challenges that come from Brexit, modelling work has revealed.

The Agriculture & Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) report, Brexit scenarios: an impact assessment, quantifies, for the first time, the potential impact of Brexit on UK farming businesses.

Ashtons’ Agriculture & Estates team have analysed the report and agree with the conclusions reached. The team are now advising clients to get all their paperwork and business arrangements ready for wholesale change in the way farming incomes are generated in the future.
