£4,000 obtained for inappropriate treatment of deep vein thrombosis

Julie Crossley, a lawyer in Ashtons Legal’s specialist medical injury team, has obtained a £4,000 settlement for Mr M, a man who suffered a pulmonary embolism and collapsed the day after having a scan which had showed a deep vein thrombosis.  The scan had been misdiagnosed and instead of being treated with anticoagulants he was discharged and went home without treatment.  Fortunately Mr M has now made a full recovery but as a result of the misdiagnosis he required more treatment than should otherwise have been necessary and also suffered lost income whilst recuperating.
