Anyone thinking of using the services of a residential conveyancing solicitor to sell their home in the near future may be heartened by new figures from Rightmove.

The organisation said this week that house prices have risen by five per cent since June 2009, up from a year-on-year increase of 4.3 per cent in May.

An average asking price for June 2010 was found to be £237,767.

However, Rightmove expressed caution regarding a further increase in house prices in the coming months, pointing out that there are still not enough available mortgage products and commenting that a sudden surge in sellers following the abolition of Home Information Packs could weigh heavily on the market.

Last month, the Small Business News blog urged anyone thinking of buying or selling a home to use an accredited residential conveyancing solicitor, pointing out that legal matters relating to property can be complicated and lengthy.
