Ashtons Legal raises over £13,000 for local charities

Ashtons Legal has raised £13,200 for three local charities – East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), Big C and Headway. The firm has been supporting the charities through a Charity of the Year partnership since April 2012.The funds have been raised by staff taking part in dress down days, cakes sales and a range of sporting activities, including the Larking Gowen half marathon, a 125 mile bike ride, a sky dive, hats for headway and santa runs in aid of EACH. A ‘Wills Week’ initiative, which took place in February 2013, raised £2,200.A charity bowling event, which took place on 21 March in Ipswich, marked the end of the firm’s fundraising year. The event was attended by 16 local firms and raised over £1,700. Sue Bailey (Chair of Ashtons Legal’s Corporate Social Responsibility committee) and Paul Whittingham (Ashtons Legal Partner) are pictured above presenting a cheque to Nikki Brown (EACH Suffolk Fundraiser) at the event.In addition to the amount raised for the three charities, £2,000 was also raised for Comic Relief and St Nicholas Hospice in Bury St Edmunds.Edward O’Rourke, CEO at Ashtons Legal, commented: “I would like to thank all our staff who have worked really hard over the past year to achieve this phenomenal amount of money. We are looking forward to another successful year of fundraising this year”.In 2013 – 14, Ashtons Legal is supporting Macmillan Cancer Support, Nelson’s Journey and Magpas.
