Ashtons Legal don hats in support of individuals with brain injury

Staff at East Anglian law firm, Ashtons Legal, have been donning a colourful selection of hats to work for a day to raise funds for a national brain injury charity.
The ‘Hats for Headway’ event is the highlight of ‘Action for Brain Injury Week’ (9-15 May 2011) and has been organised by the brain injury association, Headway, to celebrate the vital work they undertake, while at the same time raising awareness of brain injury and its devastating effects.
Trefine Maynard, a Partner in the Medical Injury team at Ashtons Legal, comments: “Ashtons Legal represents many clients who have suffered head and brain injuries in pursuing claims for compensation, and our injury Partners, Tom Cook and Ruth Booy, are trustees at West Suffolk Headway and Cambridge Headway respectively. We therefore wanted to show our continuing support by joining in with their ‘Hats for Headway Day’. Wearing a wacky hat for a day was an easy and enjoyable way to raise some vital funds for the charity”.
“Money raised from the event will go towards helping Headway to continue to support local people affected by brain injury, which can devastate lives and happen to anyone at any time.”
Ashtons Legal recently announced that it had been selected to join the new Brain Injury Group – a national network of expert brain injury lawyers that work alongside a wide range of specialist support services, such as Headway. Together they provide brain injured individuals and their families with complete support
