£55,000 obtained for family after tragic road collision

Ashtons Legal has succeeded in obtaining £55,000 for the family of a young lady who died in a Suffolk road accident.

Ms D was the passenger in a car that collided with another vehicle after the driver lost control.

Graham Heywood, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, explains: “When someone is killed in circumstances like these, there is clearly no direct personal injury claim to be made for that person. However, it is possible to bring a dependency claim if there are people relying on the money that the deceased person was earning before their death. Ms D was regularly providing for her mother and her sister and so the settlement obtained reflected that. Clearly, it will in no way make up for the loss of their loved one but it will help to prevent any immediate financial hardship following her death.”
