£50,000 obtained for knee, back and psychological injury following a road traffic collision

Tom Ranson, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, recently obtained compensation of £50,000 for a lady who suffered knee, back and psychological injuries when she was hit by a car whilst walking along a country road.

Despite being very unfortunate to be involved in the incident, fortunately, no bones were broken. Mrs F had an understanding employer and was able to return to work shortly after the incident, with adjustments being made for her. The insurer of the motorist was sympathetic to her situation and directly funded case management and private rehabilitation, which aided Mrs F’s recovery, although she continued to suffer from pain and trauma-related anxiety.

Having reached the appropriate stage in her recovery and with Ashtons Legal having obtained expert medical evidence to guide her, Mrs F instructed us to enter into negotiations with the insurance company responsible. A negotiated settlement was achieved, with the insurance company accepting Mrs F’s offer of £50,000, having originally offered £22,000.

Tom Ranson comments: “Mrs F trusted Ashtons to obtain the right result for her. In what was a complex case by reference to her past medical history, by obtaining the appropriate evidence and being able to make decisions on the strength of that evidence, a successful outcome was achieved.”
