Ashtons Legal drives successful completion of Workpays seven-figure Orangebox acquisition

Ashtons Legal has advised Workpays in its acquisition of Hartlepool-based Orangebox Training Solutions, a key strategic move that will see the Chesterfield-based training provider extend its presence into the North-East. The acquisition, supported by a seven-figure funding package from HSBC UK, represents a significant step in Workpays wider expansion plans.

Workpays was advised by Ashtons Legal on its recent acquisition, with Corporate and Commercial Partner Craig Fiddaman leading the team. He was supported by Hannah McCreadie, alongside specialist input from Tom Beattie (Employment) and our Commercial Property team. Ashtons Legal managed all aspects of the transaction, including due diligence, negotiation of key terms, drafting the acquisition agreement, and coordination with funders and advisors. Their role ensured that the process remained efficient and commercially aligned with Workpays objectives.

Orangebox will join Workpays established network of ten offices across the Midlands, strengthening the organisation’s ability to deliver skills and training programmes across a broader region. All staff at Orangebox will remain with the business under Workpays ownership.
