Ashtons appoints new partner

Ashtons Legal has appointed Nigel Maguire as a partner in the firm taking the total number of partners to 35. They are joined by a further 340 staff across East Anglia.

Nigel joined Ashtons in the summer of 2014, was promoted to senior associate in 2018 and has now been further promoted to partner following successful completion of the firm’s Becoming an Effective Business Leader Programme. He works in the busy Dispute Resolution team in Cambridge and heads up the Property Disputes specialism for the firm.

Nigel is a solicitor advocate and member of the Property Litigation Association and acts, amongst others, for 12 Cambridge colleges. He has a wealth of experience and expertise in all issues relating to property management, both legal and commercial, and he provides strategic advice to developers regarding adverse claims and interests, restrictive covenants, adverse possession and easement claims.

Rated a ‘Star Associate’ by top legal guide Chambers and Partners, Nigel’s Property Litigation team are quoted as “very prompt, they give good, proactive advice and they are very accessible. They are a very impressive regional team and they look after their clients”.

Outside of work, Nigel is a Parent Governor of a local primary school and also a coach for the U7’s team at Cambridge Rugby Club.
