£7,000 obtained for family of Suffolk man following his premature death in hospital

Julie Crossley, a medical injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, has obtained a settlement of £7,000 for the family of an elderly man who suffered sub-standard care in hospital.  Mr B died from a pulmonary odema leading to cardiac arrest having been given an excessive amount of fluids and insufficient oxygen.

Julie says: “Mr B died on Easter Sunday. Unfortunately we all too often hear of instances which suggest that a lower standard of care is often given at the weekend or on a bank holiday. If due attention had been paid to Mr B’s medical history then it is likely that his family would still have him with them today”.
