A woman from Harlow, Essex has been awarded compensation after medical negligence contributed to the death of her unborn child.
Louisa Greenslade, 26, has been paid a five-figure sum by the Princess Alexandra Hospital after her daughter Rowen died during pregnancy, reports the Harlow Herald.
Ms Greenslade alleged that doctors at the facility had failed to act on tests which had shown harmful levels of glucose in her bloodstream and that it had failed to keep proper records.
As a result, the hospital has now accepted the claim of clinical negligence and awarded the payout to the mother, as well as writing a letter of apology.
A statement from the facility said: “Princess Alexandra Hospital has apologised to Mr and Mrs Greenslade and can confirm that the case has been settled
