Ashtons Legal Partner Stephen Williams welcomed an audience of 300 people to a recent talk he helped organised about the Rosetta Comet Chaser project.

Stephen, along with Jon Pineau who is an Instrument Operation Lead and Dr Carly Howlett who is also involved in space projects spoke at the event which was held at Kesgrave High School on 5th January 2015.  The event was sponsored by Ashtons Legal and run in conjunction with Ipswich Wolsey Rotary, Kesgrave High School, the International School based in Bawdsey, Suffolk and Nick Jacobs Architects.

Income from the event will enable the charity Mary’s Meals to fund the build of a kitchen in Africa which will provide one square meal a day for poor and impoverished children.

Stephen said: “I was delighted to help organise this high profile event and honoured to welcome Jon and Carly who are renowned specialists in their field.”

He added: “The audience were enthralled and fully embraced the project to raise funds for Mary’s Meals – we are really pleased to have raised almost enough to build another kitchen.”

Mary’s Meals is a national charity which began in 2002 as a one-one school feeding programme.  Today they provide daily life changing meals to over 920,000 of the world’s hungry children.  It costs just £12.20 to feed a child for a whole year from one of the kitchens that the Rosetta talk has helped to create.
