Over £55,000 injury claim settlement achieved for injured car driver

Kerry Jones, a member of the Ashtons’ specialist personal injury team, has recently settled the claim of a driver, Ms G, who was injured when her car was struck by another vehicle.

Ms G suffered a range of injuries, including a fracture, which required post-accident surgery, and damage to her ankle, which may lead to further surgery in due course. She also incurred soft tissue injuries to her neck, shoulder, back and pelvis, some permanent scarring from her lacerations, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The effects of her injuries on her day-to-day life have been significant in terms of reduced physical mobility, and her general wellbeing has also suffered.

Kerry comments: “This claim was frustrating, mainly because the other driver’s insurers initially refused to engage in a timely way to provide early interim payments to assist Ms G and to give her the access she needed to rehabilitation to support her recovery. This meant we needed to issue court proceedings, which might otherwise have been avoided. The successful settlement of her claim should now enable Ms G to move forward with her life without being out of pocket for any time when she has been unable to work.”
