Ashtons Legal staff to take part in EACH Santa Run

  • Posted

Ashtons Legal staff will be dressing up to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) in this years’ Bury Santa Run and are encouraging other businesses to follow suit.

Ashtons Legal are loyal EACH supporters, with staff having raised funds by taking part in previous Santa Runs, skydive events and gruelling outdoor obstacle course races. We also supported The Treehouse Appeal to build a new hospice for families across Suffolk and are currently running a fundraising Wills scheme for EACH supporters, which sees a donation made to EACH when supporters make a basic Will.

EACH supports families and cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

Nikki Brown, EACH Suffolk Fundraiser and Bury Santa Run organiser, said: “We’re delighted to have the support of Ashtons Legal this year, and hope their participation inspires other to get involved.

“Local businesses are vital to the work of EACH, with many Bury-based companies raising funds by taking part in events such as the Santa Run, holding their own fundraising events or adopting EACH as their charity of the year – which Ashtons Legal has very kindly done for 2012 – 2013.

“The Bury Santa Run is great fun and takes place during the Bury Christmas Fayre so there’s plenty for you to see and do after the event has taken place.

“Funds raised from the event will provide vital care and support to local life-threatened children and their families.”

Alan Brown, Partner and Head of Individual Services at Ashtons Legal said: “We’re delighted to support the amazing work of EACH in caring for local children. We’ve supported the Santa Run in Bury for a number of years and our staff are always keen to don their Santa suits and get involved. We also have staff joining the Ipswich and Cambridge Santa runs.”

The Bury Santa Run takes place in aid of EACH at 10am on Sunday 25th November, starting and finishing at the Arc. The route is approximately 2.5km, and is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs. To sign-up visit www.each.org.uk/santaruns or call the Suffolk fundraising team on 01473 237243. Online entry closes on Friday 23 November and you can also sign-up on the day.
