Ashtons Legal raises over £52,000 for local charities
Over the past two years, colleagues across Ashtons Legal have taken part in a wide range of fundraising activities, helping to raise an impressive £52,743.52, which has been donated to five local charities.
These charities – YMCA Norfolk, St Elizabeth Hospice, Young Lives vs Cancer, FoodCycle Cambridge, and Children’s Heart Surgery Fund – were nominated by
Ashtons Legal staff across the firm. Each organisation provides vital support to individuals, families and communities across the regions in which Ashtons operates.
This remarkable total was achieved through a combination of Ashtons’ corporate and charity events, as well as the firm’s matched funding scheme, which contributes £1 for every £1 raised by staff for these charities.
Colleagues across Ashtons’ East Anglia and Leeds offices also took part in a wide range of activities, including:
- Challenge events such as the London Marathon, London Landmarks Half Marathon, abseiling, sleep outs and a parachute jump.
- Volunteering days, including garden maintenance for St Elizabeth Hospice and support for young cardiac patients at Leeds Children’s Hospital.
- Donations and office fundraising, with colleagues contributing gifts, toiletries, and essential items, alongside bake sales, fitness challenges and sweepstakes.
Natalie Westgate, Chair of Ashtons’ Charities and Pro Bono Committee, said:
“We are incredibly proud of the commitment shown by colleagues across the firm. Their generosity — whether through fundraising, volunteering or supporting charity initiatives — has made a genuine difference to the charities we work with.
Our focus over the last two years hasn’t just been about contributing funds, but also about donating our time and creating meaningful and lasting relationships with our chosen charities that will help them to continue offering their vital services in our region.”
Looking ahead, Ashtons is delighted to be supporting a new group of staff nominated charity partners for 2026–27: Cambridge Acorn Project, Finnbars Force, St Nicholas Hospice Care, alongside returning partners St Elizabeth Hospice and Children’s Heart Surgery Fund.
