Ashtons continue to support local football

  • Posted

As we come to the end of another football season, we reflect on the local football teams Ashtons Legal support and the great year they have all had.

At grassroots level, Ipswich Valley Rangers U15 Girls not only won their league, they also won the Suffolk FA County Cup. Well done girls! Wickham Knights’ U15 mixed team are also supported by the firm and have had a great season, having already been promoted last year. This coming season is the last year for both these teams playing youth football so we hope our support means they continue their footballing journeys into adult teams post-16.

Ashtons Legal is also pleased to sponsor Ipswich Town Women and Communications Manager Emily Sullivan presented nine Ashtons Legal Players of the Month with trophies – Maisy Barker, Kyra Robertson, Lucy O’Brien, Sophie Peskett twice, and Natasha Thomas a whopping four times! In March 2024, staff welcomed clients and connectors to a pre-match reception at the firm’s offices in Portman House before watching ITFC Women play on Portman Road soil for the first time ever. In this historic event, over 10,000 fans watched the ladies beat Chatham Town 5-0.

The firm has a long-standing reputation for supporting the community in which it operates through a comprehensive sponsorship programme. This includes supporting our clients and through our injury teams we have many clients with disabilities so support Bury Town Disability Football Club who provide equal opportunity and no limits for people who may struggle with mainstream football. Members of the Ashtons’ Injury Services team recently enjoyed a friendly with Bury Disability team at their community day in the town.
