The Olympic Legacy
Posted 27/09/2012
Following on the coat-tails of the euphoria which spread through the nation during our incredible summer of sport, one would be forgiven for not considering the potential additional risks which come along with it.
Bradley Wiggins’ historic victories in the Tour de France and the Olympics have inspired a generation to get back on their bikes or take up cycling for the first time. Whilst this is something to be applauded and encouraged, consideration must be given to the potential dangers this influx of cyclists may have on our roads.
Cyclists are one of the most vulnerable groups on the road, and whether you are an experienced road-biker or an enthusiastic amateur, knowledge of road safety is an important part of the kit.
At Ashtons Legal we deal with many personal injury claims resulting from collisions between bicycles and other vehicles which have been driven negligently on the roads. In fact one member of our team in Cambridge, Justina Molloy – who is a keen cyclist herself – specialises in these types of claims. Cases can range from minor cuts and scrapes to catastrophic injury, including complex orthopaedic issues and brain injury. At Ashtons Legal, we have the experience and expertise to give you the best possible advice.
If you or anyone you know has suffered an injury from a collision whilst out on a bicycle, please contact us for a no obligation discussion to find out if you have a potential claim.
