£32,000 obtained for injured driver who was initially offered £1,800

Nick Peake, a personal injury specialist at Ashtons Legal, has obtained a settlement of £32,000 for Mr W, an injured driver, who suffered both physical and psychological injuries when another driver ran into his vehicle.

Mr W’s car was hit from behind by a driver who was not paying sufficient attention to the traffic conditions.

Mr W suffered a concussion, post-concussion syndrome and also injuries to his neck.  The insurers for the driver who was at fault initially tried to settle Mr W’s claim for £1,800, before any medical reports were obtained.  Once he had sought the advice of both a psychologist and a neurologist, the settlement offer increased, but initially to £15,000 and then £22,000 before finally settling at £32,000.
