Tim Norris - Solicitor

Tim is a specialist Regulatory and Road Transport lawyer, who qualified as a solicitor in 2010.

His regulatory practice encompasses advising those, individuals and Companies, facing investigation and prosecution, brought by the Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Health Offices, Environment Agency, Trading Standards, Ofsted, Food Standards Agency, and the Police.

He provides detailed advice and compliance guidance to the Road Transport and Logistics sector; including those subject to investigation and prosecution by enforcement agencies including DVSA, HMRC, Border Force, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Environmental Agency and HSE. He regularly represents Operators, transport managers and drivers called to Public Inquiry before a Traffic Commissioner.

Tim frequently represents Taxi (both Private Hire and Hackney Carriage) Operators and drivers before the Courts and Local Authority Licensing Committees.

On a non-contentious basis he is often called to advise on applications covering a broad spectrum of licenses from alcohol to education to zoos.

He is highly conversant with the process of investigation and prosecution having served as a Senior Investigating Officer in the Police for 30 years. This enables him to provide a greater focus that understands both sides of any case. He is also frequently called upon to provide guidance, when Companies face crisis management following external and internal incidents.

Tim is a member of the Freight Transport Association and the Institute of Licensing, and was recommended in Legal 500 in 2015, 2016 and 2017
