Michael Fahy - Partner

Michael has more than 30 years’ experience as a Commercial Property lawyer and he has a mixture of in-house and private practice experience, having worked in-house for Taylor Wimpey plc and was Head of the Commercial Property team at the Church Commissioners for England.

Michael deals with a wide range of clients from individual landowners to large institutions/ corporates, including, by way of example, Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, and Associated Cold Storage & Transport Limited.

As a result of his client base, Michael covers a variety of matters such as: Options and Land Promotion Agreements for private landowners with residential property developers; Options and Leases with Energy companies; Landlord and Tenant work for both landlords and tenants granting or taking commercial leases.

Areas of specialism include working with a number of charity clients, advising on development projects; managing property portfolios; and providing general property advice on commercial property issues.

Michael is a member of our Education Team and advises on the property aspects of Academy conversions and works with Further Education clients, including East Coast College.

Michael is also a Trustee of the Ethical Property Foundation and regularly assists in providing seminars, as part of the Foundation’s national training programme, on commercial leases.
