Jack Burroughs - Solicitor

Jack Burroughs studied Law at the University of Cambridge and the Legal Practice Course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge.

Jack completed his training contract with Ashtons Legal and qualified as a Solicitor in September 2014. He now works in the Lifetime Planning department specialising in Wills, Tax and Estate Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate. Jack also receives referrals from all over the UK for the preparation of Personal Injury Compensation Protection Trusts and regularly advises clients with foreign backgrounds and assets abroad. Around half of Jack’s time is spent on probate work, primarily dealing with more complex estates.

Jack achieved remarkable success in the first half of 2016, when he was recognised as one of the top students for the first half of 2016 by the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP). He received a Distinction and achieved the highest mark in his class for the STEP Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation, for which he received a Worldwide Excellence Award. He has also since then completed the STEP Advanced Certificates in Administration of Trusts and Administration of Estates.

Jack was shortlisted for the Cambridgeshire and District Law Society’s Young Lawyer of the Year award 2017.

Jack is a member of the STEP Digital Assets Special Interest Group and advises on digital assets as part of lifetime planning and also in the administration of estates.
