Settlements totalling almost £500,000 for mesothelioma sufferers

Phoebe Osborne, a personal injury solicitor at Ashtons who specialises in asbestos-related disease claims, has obtained three mesothelioma claim settlements this month amounting to nearly £500,000 for families in Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

In two cases it will be the families of the mesothelioma sufferers who benefit and in the third case the man who contracted the disease is fortunately still alive to see his claim complete. Two of the men worked in the construction industry and the third was a carpenter.

Phoebe comments: “Sadly mesothelioma is one of the most aggressive cancers and statistics published by various bodies indicate that only around 40% of patients diagnosed with mesothelioma survive for more than a year.

“Our role is to do everything we can to obtain the compensation to which someone is entitled so that they can have the best possible quality of life after diagnosis and to ensure that their families are properly provided for later on.”
