Ashtons’ Associate awarded specialist disease accreditation

  • Posted

Phoebe Osborne, an Associate within the Personal Injury team at Ashtons Legal, has been awarded the Asbestos and Occupational Disease Accreditation by The Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL.) The association is made up of 3,500 lawyers who all specialise in injury claims.

APIL state that an Accredited Occupational Disease Specialist demonstrates a high level of competence in the specialist field of occupational disease, managing and progressing an occupational disease case so as to establish, assert and enforce, in an effective and efficient manner, the rights of a client damaged or disadvantaged by occupational disease. Phoebe is recognised as competent to take, without supervision, key decisions on accepting cases, assessing risks, evaluating offers and issuing proceedings.

Phoebe specialises solely in mesothelioma, pleural thickening, asbestosis and asbestos-related lung cancer claims and works tirelessly to secure justice for her clients. As Chair of the Anglia Asbestos Disease Support Group she holds monthly meetings in Norfolk and Suffolk for patients and carers with asbestos diseases. Phoebe is also instrumental in charity fundraising for Mesothelioma UK and regularly features in the press and local radio.

Commenting on her achievement, Phoebe said “I am overjoyed to have been awarded this accreditation from APIL; a fantastic organisation who champion the rights of injured people. This award is evidence of my hard work and dedication to asbestos disease work in the last six and a half years!”
