SUMMARY:Ashtons Cambridge Charity Treasure Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Our popular Charity Treasure Hunt returns this May and is open to any organisation that can muster a team of three enthusiastic hunters.\n\n\nWe have a new venue this year\, Jesus College and their West Court conference centre will be our base. With its origins dating back to the 16th Century\, Jesus College is an important\, educational\, cultural and social landmark in Cambridge. \nFormat \nAs in previous years we will have teams from local organisations who spend an hour or two exploring Cambridge whilst answering some tricky observation questions. \nOnce questions are answered\, teams return to our start / finish point at Jesus. \nPost hunt\, food is provided to get you warmed up and we finish with prizes for the team that answers most questions correctly. \nYou will need three people with the fourth member of the team made up with Ashtons staff. \nAshtons Charitable Trust \nThis is one of the events that we use to add money to our Ashtons Charitable Trust\, 100% of entry fees will go to the Trust. This money is distributed to local charities. \nThere will also be the opportunity to supplement the charitable giving by buying raffle tickets along the way. \nBooking \nThe event is open to any organisation who can muster a team of three enthusiastic people. \nThis event is popular so I advise you book early. \nIf you have any questions or queries please do get in touch\, I hope you can join us. \nToby \ntoby.whittacker-cook@ashtonslegal.co.uk

SUMMARY:The Strategic Exit Programme – for SME owners planning their next chapter
DESCRIPTION:Ashtons Legal\, in partnership with Chadwicks\, is pleased to share details of The Strategic Exit Programme – guiding SME owners through confident\, well-planned exits. \nThis new workshop series is designed for established business owners who are beginning to take a more strategic view of leadership\, governance and long-term business planning – whether they are considering internal succession\, exploring future sale options\, or simply wanting to strengthen the overall resilience of their organisation. \nBringing together practical leadership insight with legal and governance expertise\, the programme focuses on helping organisations reduce key-person dependency\, build a more self-sustaining structure\, and prepare confidently for whatever transition may come\, whether it is soon or many years in the future. \nEach session is delivered in a small-group format\, limited to 15 participants\, so discussion remains focused and practical. \nThe Programme includes three standalone workshops. \nAbout the programme\nThe programme consists of three standalone sessions. You can attend individually or complete the full sequence for a more comprehensive experience. \nSession 1 – Building the owner-independent asset \nThis session focuses on helping founders step back from day‑to‑day operations by strengthening management teams\, improving decision‑making structures and reducing key‑person dependency. \nTuesday 19 May | 3.30pm – 6.00pm | Ashtons Bury St Edmunds office \nSession 2 – Stress-testing the engine \nParticipants gain insight into how a buyer views a business\, identifying legal\, operational and governance weaknesses that could impact valuation or deal readiness \nThursday 4 June | 3.30pm – 6.00pm | Ashtons Bury St Edmunds office \nSession 3 – Transitioning the legacy \nThe final session explores what happens after a sale\, including knowledge transfer\, protecting family wealth\, and helping founders define their next chapter beyond ownership. \nWednesday 17 June | 3.30pm – 6.00pm | Ashtons Bury St Edmunds office \nWho the programme is designed for\nSME owners and directors with 10+ years in business who are not necessarily looking to exit immediately\, but who want to strengthen their organisation\, protect long-term value\, and understand the steps involved in both succession and potential future sale. \nBooking\nThis programme is not a sales seminar or a retirement event. \nIt is a leadership\, resilience and value-creation initiative\, focused on strengthening long-term organisational independence and preparing owners for a smoother transition – whether internal or external\, soon or many years ahead. \nTo book your place for one workshop or to attend the full programme\, please email Toby.Whittacker-Cook@ashtonslegal.co.uk.
