Ashtons Legal occupies new premises at Fornham Business Court

Regional law firm Ashtons Legal has confirmed its commitment to Bury St Edmunds, recently moving over 90 staff to new purpose-designed premises at Fornham Business Court in Fornham St Martin.

Ashtons is seeking to establish one large mid-region presence as opposed to separate smaller ones in mid-Anglia to complement its presence in Cambridge, Norwich and Ipswich. With this in mind the firm’s staff who were previously located in premises in Kempson Way and Guildhall Street in Bury St Edmunds are now housed together at Fornham Business Court and in mid-2019 the firm will take occupation of a second building and bring a further 60 staff from their existing Thetford office to the same location.

Edward O’Rourke, CEO at Ashtons, says: “This is an exciting time for us and our staff have embraced the new location which provides spacious offices, lots of meeting rooms and plenty of parking for clients and staff alike. The local countryside is stunning and as such we have purchased seven bikes for staff to use around the area which ties in with our previous recognition for Most Active Workplace in the St Edmundsbury Sports Awards”.

The costs associated with refurbishing The Long Barn at Fornham Business Court and to build a second office building were provided by Barclays and Graham Martin, Relationship Director, Corporate Banking at Barclays, Peterborough, said: “Our funding support to Ashtons Legal has allowed them to realise their long term vision to provide modern offices in both Cambridge and Fornham. The new offices provide their employees with a well-being environment and will allow the firm to continue to expand”.
